Broker's Comments

Excellent example of this classic model. As you can see in the pictures, she has been very much a family boat. Many upgrades and improvements since new. Great living space, combined with the sea-keeping qualities the marque is renowned for.

A recent Awlgrip topsides paint job, sets her aside from sister ships.

There is a possibility of a low-cost option on a swinging mooring, by separate negotiation, in a great location. Current owners are selling due to family movements.

PRICE REDUCED, AND OPTION ON SWINGING MOORING ALSO AVAILABLE!

Hi,

To clarify as best I can, this vessel was found to have high hull moisture content over a year ago and was checked again in Spring 2019 and levels were found to have significantly fallen. No diagnosis of osmosis was given and no survey report was compiled, citing osmosis.

We always recommend a full survey when buying a boat. If you'd like further information ,please don't hesitate to get in touch with Boatshed Palma.

Kind regards,

Tim

Dear Charles

Thank you for the comments and your observations. Boatshed are brokers and are acting as Agents for the owner and his information provided of the boats current known condition. Prior to any purchase we would recommend anyone to have have a full condition survey as part of any offer. This enables the observations of the surveyor to be taken into account and any issues with the boat to be potentially re-negotiated or declined prior to a purchase.

The Boatshed broker who listed this boat has now indicated on the vessel details that some evidence of osmosis has been reported.

Osmosis is common on boats of this vintage and it is common for many owners to effect DIY or professional repairs.
On the subject of Professional Osmosis repair a Practical Boat Owner magazine entry in 2016 reported;
Osmosis Treatment Cost - With epoxy an expensive material, and many man-hours of skilled labour required, the prices for a full professional cure are approx £150 per foot of LOA.

Full article can be found here:
https://www.pbo.co.uk/expert-advice/osmosis-the-professional-treatment-26525

Any offers for the boat, subject to condition survey are welcome anytime.

Thanks for the comments and I hope this clarifies Boatshed position and the process for how any offers for the purchase of this boat will be handled by us.

There are many detailed photos, taken by Boatshed, of the engine, bilges etc of the vessel to help interested parties to get an understanding of the vessel prior to committing to an offer and condition survey.

I am amazed that this boat is still being offered by Boatshed as they know of the faults.
I have viewed this "Boat" and I feel I must warn all potential buyers that it is riddled with OSMOSIS. Approx. cost of repair in excess of 8,000 without hard fees etc. BE WARNED
