Boatshed.com has organised the weather, the fizz, the boat show banter and even the coveted wristbands of the week and all we need now is for you to join us! Stand C53 (our usual spot near the Honda engine stand and at the bottom of the bridge in the Holiday Inn section of the show.)

The show has been open for a couple of hours and already we have seen lots of Olympic medals, wondered at Kate O'Mara's shoe choice and caught up with loads of friends. Geoff Holt came past our stand but it was only 9am so Fizz @ Five hadn't started - see you later Geoff?

The opening ceremony involved boating heroes from the 40 years since the Southampton Boat Show started. Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Lady Pippa Blake (widow of Peter Blake), Steve Curtis, Dame Ellen MacArthur and the entire Olympic sailing squad from Team GB with their medals. Joining them on stage was Howard's Way actress Kate O'Mara looking resplendent in white with gold stilettos.....New yachting uniform perhaps?

Boatshed.com at the Southampton Boat Show - check back here for updates, lots of photos from the show and to catch up with the goings on. In fact, come and see us and be part of the action yourself. Remember that when you visit the stand and register you too will be able to sport the Boatshed.com wristband - that yellow flash is becoming the must-have item of the show already.
